Harry Potter madness;

What do you get when you mix a young boy, a lightning bolt-shaped scar and a dark lord who wants world revenge? Harry Potter madness, of course!

Over the years, these books have come to be one of the most widely read series in the world. These books opened the door for J.K. Rowling. She went from being a poor single mother to the second richest women in England. However, in just a matter of months, the series will come to an end, as the seventh and final book will appear on shelves at midnight on July 21.  This is where I step in, though.
Now, as a self proclaimed Harry Potter fan, I have spent the last year and a half gathering ideas from fan sites as to what will happen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows. Harry Potter six left many unanswered questions, such as: What is Snape really up to? Will the Golden Trio go out to find the remaining Horecuxes or will they end up back at Hogwarts for their last year? Who is R. A. B? But finally, and most importantly, what will happen in the final battle between Harry and Voldemort?

Now, Rowling has been quoted recently saying that she has thought about killing off Harry since it will make any question of a sequel series impossible. But for fans, this would be a disasterous move as not only would many loyal readers, such as myself, be crushed that their beloved hero is no more, but it would send fanfiction sites like Checkmated.com and HarryPotterFanFiction.com into alternate universies.  Rowling has also said that she will for sure be killing off at least 2 more main characters. But as for a hero’s death, no one is certain.

Then there is the Snape question. Is he definatly evil? Or was the whole top of the tower death a planned one? The second chapter in Half Blood Prince would say that yes, indeed it was an unplanned death and that Dumbledore had no idea that Snape had gone over to the evil side. However, Snape was a spy for the Order and the dark side never knew. So, had Dumbledore, in fact, planned his death as a way to help Harry to defeat Voldemort? Did Dumbledore know that killing Voldemort would mean a sacrifice for his own life as well? No one can be sure when it comes to Dumbledores actions.

There is also the question of the veil in the Department of Mysteries. Is it one of Voldemort’s dark items and if so, why wasn’t it destroyed way back during the first war? Some would say that it is simply a way of trapping people until the demise of Voldemort when they will be able to be return into the real world. Yet, we know nothing of the origin or purpose of the veil, so this is yet another question that can only be answered by reading the seventh book.

Finally, how will the seventh book end? Rowling was said to have written the ending before even finishing the first novel. But she has since then been quoted saying that she killed someone who wasn’t suppose to die. Some seem to think that it will just end, with Harry having killed Voldemort. However, many fan sites have said that it will end with a look into the future at the survivors of the war. Will this mean that Harry will not be killed off and will go on to lead a happy life, perhaps with Ginny as his girlfriend? Or could this mean a horrible ending for our emerald-eyed hero?

In the end, it just comes down to one simple fact:
we’re just going to have to read the book for ourselves to find out. So pre-order your book and come to the Harry Potter release party at Borders on July 20th. When the sixth book released, trumpets sounded at midnight. If the party is as good as the last, it’s bound to be a bloody good time, Mate.
