Mexico

We spent a beautiful week in Ixtapa, Mexico in December 2004.  Robyn, Taylor, our neighbor Jackie and I played in the surf, parasailed, rented jet skis, swam with dolphins and generally had a great time while in Mexico.  Skydive Chicago spent the winter based at Carlos and Charlie’s so I was able to make a couple of jumps.  Flying over the ocean and then landing on the beach in the midst of all the sunbathers was an amazing experience.  The sunsets each night were incredible and Robyn and I cannot wait until we have the opportunity to explore more of Mexico.

New York

Robyn, my kids and I spent a long weekend visiting New York City.  We stayed in New Jersey and took the PATH train in and out of Manhattan.  Our trip included a walking tour of New York University, a very emotional visit to Ground Zero, a ferry ride to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty and a walk in Central Park.  We were entertained by some very funny street performers in Central Park and then hopped on the bus and headed for the Empire State BuildingRobyn and I had been in the building before during the day, but this time we got to experience Manhattan from above at night.  I’m always amazed at how far the city skyline extends in all four directions.  It seems there are buildings and people as far as the eye can see.

Bahamas

Spring Break 2006 found us in the Bahamas.  Robyn and I took this trip with my long time friends, Bob Baker and Mark Anderson and their wives, Liz and Barb.  Although the weather did not cooperate (60-ish degrees and 20 mile per hour winds the whole time we were there) it was still a beautiful place to visit.  Bob and I got to do some bone fishing and Robyn and I rented a moped for a trip around the island.  Driving on the left hand side of the road proved a challenge as we almost met some oncoming traffic at a stop sign!  The casino at Atlantis was the primary evening attraction – let’s just say we broke even and leave it at that.
